First Time Mommy

At 26 years old I became a first time mom. I had no idea what I was doing or going to do! I was filled with so many different emotions it was crazy. But I would do it again. I would always question myself, wondering if I was going to be a good mom, role model for my daughter or a good teacher. While she was still in my belly we would sing and read to her. I could tell she loved it! So that made it a wonderful experience.

She is about to be two in a couple of months and she makes me the happiest person everyday. Her smile brightens up any storm and her laugh makes us melt. She is the sweetest, caring and considerate child I have met! At ten months she was already walking! My baby didn’t even crawl! We have hard wood floors, so I really didn’t want to put her down….

At one years old she was already counting to ten, learning colors and having a full conversation with us! I am so amazed with how smart she is, it scares me! But I absolutely love it! I have already stopped wondering if I was going to be a good mom. Everyday she proves to me that I am doing great as a mom. Obviously family members say the same thing but, you know, as moms or dads, you wonder…

She isn’t even two yet and has been potty trained as of a week ago. She doesn’t even pee in the bed lol. On top of that now she can count to fifteen! We are still working on her ABC’s but she knows them to F. She is definitely a sponge! My little sweetheart is a diva!! While she was in her diapers, she could not stand being wet. She will definitely let us know when she has to go. Either by running to the bathroom and yelling. Her run is the funniest at this time!

Minus all of her fussing, having her as my child has been the best blessing I could have gotten. She loves to sing, dance, go outside (I am an inside person), run around with our pets. , play peek-a-boo, draw, cook and laugh. She loves everything! I know my daughter is going to be a awesome woman one day!

Being a stay at home parent, is by far, the hardest thing I have ever done. It is not all peaches and cream like most people would think. Despite all of the cleaning up, cooking, playing, teaching, running around, and running errands in general; my baby girl makes it all worth it. Minus the fussing lol.

Working from home VS Entrepreneurship

Many of us have always dreamt of working from home. Many do not know where to start when it comes to finding and applying for the jobs available. I was that person once upon a time. That is one of the main reasons I started this blog. When you finally decide that you want to work from home, regardless of your reasoning, there are a few things to consider: income potential, having a remote boss or manager, maybe working when you want and getting paid what you want and the lack of interaction with coworkers (remote). When you decide that you want to work from home, decide which route you want to take: working for a company or yourself.

There are pros and cons to both entrepreneurship and working from home for a company. I will start with working from home.

Working from home

When you begin on the path of working from home, you need to make sure that you and your home office will qualify with the position you are applying for. For example, I applied to work to\\for TTECH, this is a good company, from what I have heard. When I began the application process, I had to do a scan of my computer to show them if it would be able to run with the application that they use. Even though it passed, the next thing, is passing assessments. Most of them are not hard, just common sense or based off of your experience.

Scheduling

Another thing to keep in mind, check out all the job details and emails you receive. You may be signing up for a job that has a flexible schedule, it may even be a fixed schedule. Whatever schedule you need, make sure that the job details provided enough information for you to make the best decision. I once worked for a company where I worked full-time during the week. I was able to pick from morning hours or over night hours. Once my schedule was picked, I could not change it until my year anniversary.

In the beginning, I worked the morning shift because I knew I would have help with my daughter. Even though it worked for a while, she was still a newborn baby and did a lot of fussing. My managers knew this and was willing to work with me. Although, they knew about the situation, they did not consider allowing me to change schedules. I knew that if they had allowed me to work the night shifts, then I would be able to keep up with the demand because my daughter would be sleep…They would not work with me so I had to let them go.

I would not advise for anyone to work for a company and have their child with them. Someone has to be watching them, regardless if they are at home with someone other than you or in daycare. When I first took the job, I was told it was okay for me to have my daughter, unless she was fussing. Well as a newborn, she did that a lot! While working from home I definitely did not have much conversations with other people working on the same project.

Lack of interaction/remote boss

While working on a work from home project, I knew there were others working with me because we trained together. From the training, we exchanged emails and numbers, to have some help or practice, if needed. I should have taken the other members up on the training but I couldn’t due to us being on opposite ends of the coast. I was not about to give up my 8 o’clock dinner to have a study session. That is just me….My team mates were remote, as well as my manager. They were always there when I had questions or concerns, but I could never get a fast response when it was needed immediately. Email is the quickest way for contact, but what if I am on the phone with a customer that needs help now, but I do not know how to help them? I hated that part! I needed someone nearby, as close as possible! Another thing to think about is: how much are you getting paid?

Income Potential

When working from home for a company like a call center, they pay you by the hour. Now, most of us work like this, but we always complain about getting underpaid and overworked….While I was working from home for a call center, I was getting paid $9 an hour. I couldn’t complain about that pay but I knew we deserved more. We would get unruly customers, hang ups, we had to do our own research to find out what a customers issue was and we also had to do live transfers, three-way calls or put customers on hold and then hear complaints because of the hold.

In my opinion, with all the work it took, we should have gotten paid at least $12 an hour. There is a call center in Charlotte near me, that pays $9 an hour plus commissions. And this position was not remote! When working from home and getting little pay, it turns into high turnover rates. If these companies want to keep their employees happy, give them a little bump in pay. Here is a list of a few companies to work with:

  • Alorica
  • Arise
  • TTECH
  • RRTUSA
  • TeleTech
  • Amazon

This turns me over to entrepreneurship. I knew I wanted to be my own boss, set my own schedule, travel when I want, homeschool my daughter and charge my customers what I know I am worth!

Entrepreneurship

When you are in business for yourself, you set your own hours and decide on your own pay rate. There are many different things a person can do to work for their self. Here is a list:

  • Book Keeping
  • Medical transcription
  • Social Media Management
  • Public Relations
  • Coaching
  • Lead Generation
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Crafting
  • Online store (dropshipping)
  • Blogging/writing/freelance

When you work for yourself, no one can tell you when you have to clock in or when something needs to be done. You are your own boss so there is no checking in with someone.

Although working for yourself can be rewarding, it can also be hard, so this is not for everyone. You must be dedicated, creative, a risk taker and a fast learner/adapter. If you start an online business, you must be able to stay up to date with the constant changes in technology.

Invest In yourself

When you have a business idea, instead of it being a dream it becomes reality. One must know that in order to work for yourself, you must be willing in to invest in yourself. If you don’t, then who will? Everyone does not have the same mindset to take such risks that are well worth it, especially if you are following your dreams!

Freedom of time

When you work for yourself, you can take vacations as you like, without having to tell your boss ahead of time to get approved or denied… You can stay home with the children, travel or explore and meet new people. Personally, this is the main reason I have decided to work for myself. Having a daughter made me want to keep an eye on her at all times. There are too many deaths, missing children, trafficking and unnecessary pain brought onto us by others. I prefer to keep my baby home and safe with me. I plan on homeschooling her so we do not have to worry about school shootings. Sad, but true! I work without fear of wondering how am I going to be able to provide for my daughter while keeping her safe at the same time.

Conclusion

I have personally tried working for multiple companies from home; but I know that working for myself is my best bet. This is the best way I can make sure that everything at home is taken care of. I decide how much to charge clients, I decide how much to charge for my work and when it gets done. No one rushes me to do anything.

Running a business may not be easy in the beginning because you are wearing multiple hats, you need to have the time and money to invest in yourself, and the dedication and energy/time that it takes to be successful. When you decide that this is the route for you, make sure you do thorough research to make sure that whatever business you want to start is the right fit for you. Take that chance, it may be just what you need! Don’t let fear hold you back any longer!

SoManyHits.com: Scam or legit opportunity?

Right out of the gate the company boasts a sign-up rate of 83% for people viewing the presentation video to completion. While I can not attest to that it could be legit as the program is completely free to join.

So what is the catch?

While the program is free to join, they do have upgrade options. Before I get to the upgrade option I have to mention that the free account is more than generous. You also don’t get hit with OTO’s (one time offers) when signing in to your account.

Before getting into all the benefits you get as a free member, let’s first delve into what SoManyHits is…

Like the sales video explains, SoManyHits.com is first and foremost a URL tracking and shortening service, meaning you can shorten all your affiliate links and track how many clicks they receive. Unlike mostly all other tracking services (even the paid ones), there is no limit on the amount of campaigns you can create or clicks you may receive during a given month before shelling out more money to keep on tracking. This is true even for free members.

They also made it easy to track multiple advertising sources from the same campaign tracking URL by simply adding a keyword identifiable to you to the end of the tracking URL. When a shortened tracking URL is followed, the hit is recorded and displayed in your back-office, complete with a break-down of where the hits came from (keywords appended).

The service also promises to create a flood of traffic to any and all campaigns that will keep on doubling. While this may sound outrageous, it is actually very likely to happen because of their unique referral system. Well…, when I say unique, for those of you familiar with their sister site EasyCash4Ads.com, it actually makes use of the exact same 2-up referral system where your first two referrals are passed up to your sponsor into what they call traffic lines. Every person who ends up in one of your traffic lines will first have to sponsor two people who will go to their sponsor, which means that particular traffic line keeps doubling.

If you are put off by the notion that you first have to refer two people that goes to your sponsor before the system can begin working for you, the good news is that sign-ups should not be hard to come by seeing that the program is free to join and their affiliate tools also helps a lot to achieving this requirement (more on that later).

Getting back to the traffic aspect, every time one of your tracking links are followed, visitors will first pass through an ad gateway, similar to services such as ad fly where they will first see an interstitial ad for a couple of seconds before being directed to the site being tracked. That ad will be a random campaign belonging to your sponsor, so when you take into account the way traffic lines keep doubling, it gives credence to the claim that your traffic will also keep doubling. It should be noted, when you create a new campaign, you can choose to promote the campaign through your traffic lines via an interstitial ad or (for pro members) a pop-under ad. Members may also choose not to promote certain campaigns.

While there is something to be said about the annoyance of pop-under and interstitial ads, bear in mind that their target market is Internet marketers. These are the same people signing up for programs through traffic exchanges, so I can very well see this traffic converting very well indeed.

Apart from the traffic, URL tracking and URL shortening, you also have the ability to export the contact details of everybody in your traffic lines into a CVS file to easily import to your auto-responder of choice. The great thing about this for the new member joining is that they will only end up in their sponsor’s mailing list because of the way their referral system works. This is great as the last thing I want when signing up for a new opportunity is to end up in as many mailing lists as are dependent on the size of the member’s down-line or up-line. For those who don’t yet have an auto-responder account (what are you waiting for?), you still get to message your traffic lines through an internal messaging system complete with a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor every 10 days. (Pro members can message their traffic lines every 60 hours)

The owners of SoManyHits.com realize the strength of an affiliate network and this is reflected in the tools they make available to members to promote their affiliate links. When they launched their sister site EasyCash4Ads, the IM world was abuzz with talk about their beautiful splash and capture pages. With SoManyHits they did it again with a total of 120 splash, capture and brain-teaser pages (which double as splash pages) and improved on the design by displaying an animation while the image is loading. These pages can also easily be shared as stunning image cards to your Twitter and Facebook followers with a click of a button.

Members have an abundance of emails and banners as well as some other nifty tools to promote their links, not to mention affiliate links also get promoted through their shortened tracking links which means they can actually lay claim to their product slogan of working smarter, not harder.

Getting to the upgraded features, analyzing your tracking stats really come into their own with much more detailed reports and real time charts. Platinum members also get to message their traffic lines every 60 hours as apposed to every 10 days, they have more options available to them when creating campaigns but where the pro membership really shines is in the income plan.

Platinum membership plans start at $27 for 60 days or $13.50 per month. (a quick Google search revealed most of the competition start at an average of $29/month with limited clicks). From there the options go up to $69 for 6 months ($11.50 per month), $121 for one year ($10, 08 per month) and $177 for 2 years ($7, 38 per month) As an upgraded member you will receive, $10, $20, $30 and $50 respectively every time the platinum membership is renewed. Free members will receive 40% of the commission amount while the other 60% will go to the first upgraded member in their up-line. This effectively means upgraded members will make an extra 60% commission from members who have already qualified out of their traffic lines.

Taking this up yet another notch, they also pay out performance bonuses where you could earn an additional 40% commission. Commissions are paid out twice a month and should you earn $350 during a pay period, they will add another $50 to your commission. Earn $700 and you will get an extra $100 on top of the $50 bonus you received. Earn $1000 and receive yet another $250 on top of what you already earned. From $1000 up, you will get a bonus of $400 for every $1000 you earn. Taking into consideration that upgraded members also receive 60% second tier commissions from free members who qualified out of their traffic lines, it effectively means you will earn 40% extra commission through your own efforts as well as from free members in your down-line.

From what I understand, the developers are already working on more features to be implemented that will be available to pro members. While the free plan will impress even the most critical user, members will be hard-pressed not to upgrade, especially taking the affordable upgrade options into account.

In summary, SoManyHits.com is a well-thought-out service offering a lot of value for the cash strapped marketer with a generous compensation plan and a promise to grow a traffic monster that will serve you well in time to come.

Pros:

  • Unlimited campaigns with no restrictions
  • Great way to grow your mailing list
  • Very affordable to upgrade
  • Unique referral system
  • Generous compensation plan
  • A freebie hunter’s dream

Cons

  • Interstitial and pop-under ads
