Work at home job leads- 4/26/2019

Working from home? Is there a catch?

What are you missing?

As you can imagine, I have been searching for work from home jobs on Indeed, FlexJobs, Pinterest etc. All the pages you can think of. I was driving myself crazy!! I came up empty handed more than ever, this set back made me give up for years at a time.

Well, now I have a hold on this work from home thing.

Today, I want to tell you some tips and tricks that you may not know of. You might not even like them. In all honesty, I am not here to fill anyone’s head up with unrealistic dreams of those who are already working from home.

Self Hosted Blog/Website

If you are in the transitioning stages to working from home then I have a suggestion. Put away $50-$500 dollars and purchase a self-hosted domain through “Dreamhost”, “Bluehost”, “HostGator, and others. There are others sites to choose from, I suggest finding what matches your niche, fits your budget and OBVIOUSLY, make sure it is a legit company.

What is the purpose of self-hosting? Think of this as opening the doors to a new world (working from home). This optimizes your blog or website. Optimizes means that the loading speed or process on your website is fast, SEO (search engine optimization), this helps people find your blog and shows them what you are writing about.

Are you quick to give up?

If you are quick to give up, or “wear your feelings on you sleeves”, then working from home may not be for you. I say that because you must always stand your ground. From my experience, people make a way to make working from home a living hell, make it hard to balance between work and family time. This was my main reason to work from home. To still be able to be with my family.

Some companies will say no and will not work with your scheduling, like they said they would in the beginning. At first I had no problem with this because I wanted the experience. I wanted to hone in own my skills; gain new skills.

Another reason I say that is because you will get rejected about 99% of the time. No, I am not kidding! I have always had good reviews and reports from my previous jobs but still got denied a job.

No matter how many tests you go through, before they even consider putting you through to the next interview, most likely they did not like the answers given or accept them. Bummer, right?

How can you get around this? Get more nerves and determination than ever! You have to understand that this is all part of the process. Trust in yourself and never give up and the job that you need or always wanted will land in your lap!

Focus on your skills

Are you a writer? Show some samples! Always work on your blog and social media accounts. You can also reach out to clients. If you do decide to reach out to clients, then make sure you are practicing or typing up pitch letters. Work on writing articles, sample stories or any other form of writing that interests you. Try to write at least 1k words per day.

I will also suggest having more than one way to make income from home. For example, I am currently studying to get my life insurance license in North Carolina. I have a online Boutique and I work for a call center from home. I plan on working with my boutique and insurance part time and FROM HOME!! It may sound like a lot but they all coincide together for me.

Being able to work from home is absolutely amazing! However, you must also pay close attention to the realistic side of the spectrum. I need you to understand that this takes time, it took me almost three years to understand, pick a niche, craft my niche and maintain the effort put into it. Let’s be real, anything that is worth it, definitely takes dedication, effort and time.

Abreyah

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining my on this journey.  Just a little bit about myself.  My name is Abreyah and I am a stay at home mom to a 15 month old.  She keeps my hands full!

I had been on the search for a way to make money from home since 2011.  I have tried many MLM’s, I was not satisfied, especially since I did not want to bother my friends and family.

The next step was networking.  I had two colleagues working from home but for some reason I was not having any luck!  Fast forward to 2017.  Two years after graduating college, I went to work in a warehouse.

I was not satisfied and had decided to focus on working from home again, especially after having my daughter.  After many failed interviews and tests, I had finally found something for me!

Long story short, I made this blog to share my experience’s, as well as provide you guys with ways to make money from home the LEGIT way, regardless if it is 1099 or as an employee.

I hope this will help those who want to make the transition but do not know where to start.
